Never click on an email sent by PAYPAL even if you use their services.
Always type in Paypals address in your browsers address bar and log in manually.
This prevents 99% of the traps or scams sent by hackers to try to entice you out of your private information.

This is the number 1 reason why there is a problem with paypal. Its not because Paypal is insecure, but only because a hacker will send you an email looking like they are paypal. This technique is responsible for most of the problems paypal has had up to this point, and now many other companies such as banks, credit card companies and popular online stores, are now having the same problem.
The email will bring you to a fake site that looks like paypal and ask you for your private information. Hackers will then trade this back and forth with other hackers and possibly abuse your account.

How do I recognize a fake paypal email?
When you go to click on a link in outlook, what you do is put your mouse over the link but do not click it yet. Then look at the bottom left bar (above the start bar) of your browser.

This is an easy example of faked emails. So never click on a paypal email that was sent to you, unless you know the sender. Even in that case, its just as easy to type www.paypal.com in to your browser and go there manually.

This is how 99% of all scams are done to paypal and this is why paypal has in the past had a bad reputation.
You can use this technique on other emails to. There are many phishing techniques on the web. From ones that make it look as if they are from Citibank, Any bank for that matter, Ebay, Amazon.com and many other organizations.
Do not be fooled. Just make sure you check before you click.
