Steve Gunnels – Fidpac Scam

Steve Gunnels owned a large quantity of hosting web sites and offered hosting for all types of services.  He had quite a few scams going in his time and has since been put out of business.  Numerous complaints to the BBB in his area and numerous people have been taken advantage by him.  He is probably somewhere back in business in yet another scam, so this information is kept for any wary person trying to find information on him.

1: He has in the past taken money and offers services he cannot or will not supply

2: In the past, when complaints are registered, he will do little or nothing about it.  Even if approached by the better business beaurea.  He has in some cases reverted to racism and gender bias.  (emails with him doing this are available upon request)

3: In the past, if you have any dispute, if he offered you a free domain (which he controls and has access to) he has hijacked the domain to try to gain more money out of you.  (check webhosting reviews on the internet to find actual people who he has done this to)

4: In the past, he loads so many people on his servers, he cannot supply you with what was promised

5: In the past, he lets people run IRC servers as well as lets people do pornographic material (which opens up a whole can of hacking problems) to your site

6: In the past, if your site goes down, it may be a long time before you hear from him

7: In the past, databases mysteriously disappear, (no backing up or incorrectly backing up) and you may lose a weeks worth of posts on frequent occasions

8: In the past on hist website, you cannot reach him at any time, or by phone.  He rarely supplies a phone number

9: In the past, he was offering lifetime hosting and then when he has control of the site, start charging you hidden fees, and sometimes not telling you about charges to your card.  You get a statment back with unauthorised charges.
